ABOUT JAMOS MITCHELL

Regardless of my role – program management, product development, sales, marketing, training or team leadership – I don’t mind being challenged to go further than I did last time. My approach to solving the most difficult problems is two-fold: with a scientific, analytical mindset and strong interpersonal skills. I analyze processes and develop collaborative relationships with people. I thrive on strategic-level problems where I can take a process from ideation to execution.I have a passion for learning and credit my dad for this. He was also a life-long learner and has continually inspired me. After establishing a career in construction, my dad entered college in his mid-30s, earned Bachelor and Master’s degrees – and is now a professional educator. My example is less dramatic, but still illustrates my desire for personal and professional growth. Several years ago I participated in an Emerging Leaders Program that focused on project management and leadership skills. I was instructed by a lean Six Sigma Black Belt who taught me techniques, processes and critical problem solving skills. I’ve taken this program a step further by recently earning a Six Sigma White Belt through the Aveta Business Institute. Another passion of mine is international travel. To date I’ve visited more than 23 countries as a world traveler, recruiter, student and volunteer. As a Team Leader for a mission group, I provided support, advocacy, education, construction and orphan care in 11 countries over 11 months (Europe, South America, Africa and Asia). In college I studied in Costa Rica for a semester where I gained a proficiency in Spanish and traveled and studied throughout Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Guatemala. More recently, I went on a business trip to Indonesia to recruit students for the college where I’m working.Among other things, travel has given me a truly global perspective and I’ve learned to excel in ever-changing environments.
