When i decided to become a therapist it was my goal to work within the frame of social justice in the hopes of making long-needed changes in a lot of our failed and unfair systems, especially for marginalized populations. I\'m GIDDY to be able to say that this dream has become a reality, as I\'ve accepted a job as a primary therapist for Healthright360, in their prison reform sector.Healthright360 is based in giving people resources and opportunities who are typically looked down on by society, and often projected onto with either unfair, uneducated, and/or un-empathetic biases. In other words, the founder of this company is basically the Bernie Sanders of the modern mental health world.I will specifically be working in prison reform, rehabilitation, and reintegration with 200 incarcerated men who are serving the last few years of their sentences, in an effort to give them what they need for a successful and healthy life after prison.Thank you to everyone who has been so uplifting and supportive during this journey, i can\'t articulate how much it means. Here\'s to healthcare being a right, not a privilege!
