Supervisor: Tim West (20••••••98Serves as a chemical security inspector whose duties include inspections of, and assistance with site security plans at high risk chemical facilities as defined by 6 CFR Part 27. The security plans are risk based, and developed from eighteen performance standards that encompass the areas of physical security, cyber security, incident response, and security management. Routinely assigned as a lead inspector for coordinating regulatory inspections, compliance assistance, industry outreach, liaison with other agencies, including additional duties as determined by regional and headquarters management. These duties include guidance and oversight of inspection activities and processes, determining team assignments, issuing inspection notices, conducting interviews, providing briefings, writing inspection reports and approval summaries, reviewing and submitting inspection reports, conducting technical consultations, and recommending corrective and enforcement actions as required. Encounters an array of assignments that have involved potentially non-compliant facilities, preparing for large scale security events, providing regulatory guidance to industry parties, and delivering enforcement documents to legal counsel representing an industry party. Duties have also included writing incident reports, submitting after action reports, providing recommendations to senior management, and coordinating operations with a variety of agencies to include the FBI, ATF, EPA, OSHA, and the Consumer Product Safety Commission. As a FLETC certified instructor there are other duties as assigned outside of normal regulatory functions to include mentoring newly assigned inspectors that are receiving on the job training. The enabling goal of mentorship is to ensure that inspectors receive consistent job related technical training, and guidance in incremental steps, commensurate with their individual skill and grade levels.
