These were high-stakes operations where poor decisions had immediate consequences for people, assets, and operations.A serious near-miss during this period fundamentally changed my outlook — shifting my focus from reacting to incidents to designing systems that prevent harm before it occurs.I invested heavily in professional development, completing multiple NEBOSH qualifications and a Level 6 Diploma, achieving Chartered IOSH (CMIOSH) status in 2019. Rather than stepping straight into consultancy, I learned the profession from the ground up — progressing from Health & Safety Officer through to HSEQ Coordinator and Health & Safety Manager within recycling and energy-generation businesses.That experience matters.
