ABOUT JAMIE B.

Jamie is the General Counsel of The Washington Ballet (TWB). She is also a member of TWB’s Board of Directors and serves on the Board’s Executive Committee, as co-chair of the Audit and Risk Committee, and as a member of the Finance Committee. Jamie is a strategic business partner and is actively seeking corporate board opportunities. In 2023, Jamie retired from the global law firm, Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, where she served as head of Skadden’s Financial Institutions Regulatory and Enforcement Group. Jamie was a co-chair of Skadden’s Anti-Money Laudering Committee and served as a member of the Policy Committee, Skadden’s governing body. As a member of Skadden’s senior management, Jamie worked to develop legal strategies with a focus on long-term growth and advancing business priorities for her clients. She regularly represented global financial institutions on complex cross-border compliance and enforcement matters. She is an expert in cross-border anti-money laundering, economic sanctions, banking secrecy and data protection compliance matters, and has counseled U.S. and international clients on numerous issues arising under these laws and regulations. Jamie also provided her clients and their boards with guidance on compliance and corporate governance and worked extensively to help them design and implement compliance programs, and to monitor and improve corporate compliance posture. Jamie was repeatedly selected for inclusion in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business, The Best Lawyers in America, Lawdragon 500 Leading Lawyers in America and Washingtonian Magazine’s Best Lawyers list and was named as Best Lawyers’ 2019 Washington, D.C. Litigation - Banking and Finance Law Lawyer of the Year. She is the past chair of the American Bar Association Banking Law Committee, Subcommittee on Mergers and Acquisitions.
