About Jamie Titus
I chose my career at Mount St. Joseph University because I love the spirit of this place. The legacy of the Sisters of Charity and our founder’s commitment to making a difference in the world continue to inspire me. As a scientist, educator, and mentor, my role goes beyond teaching—I help students find their path, develop confidence in their scientific abilities, and navigate challenges along the way. Whether it’s advising, organizing information, conducting research with students, or measuring learning outcomes, every part of my job connects to one purpose: fostering growth, curiosity, and success in science. As a woman in science, I understand the impact of mentorship, and I take pride in serving as a guide for future scientists. I also recognize the obstacles many students face, and as a mother of three, I empathize with those balancing multiple responsibilities. If you\'re from an underserved background and have questions about pursuing a scientific degree, please reach out—I have a deep passion for helping students find opportunities and thrive.Beyond the classroom, I serve as the Academic Assessment Coordinator, ensuring that student learning remains at the heart of our academic mission. I collaborate with faculty and leadership to maintain a culture of evidence-based teaching and continuous improvement. My work involves mentoring department chairs, designing and evaluating assessment strategies, and contributing to institutional accreditation efforts—all in support of student success. If you’re looking to better understand a scientific concept, gain confidence in your academic journey, or discuss ways to climb higher in education and research, I’m always happy to connect!
