What is a Business Practice Leader? Given the line of work I do, for a local stormwater and sewer utility on the strategy team I’ll let you draw your own conclusion about what the \"2\" represents.Being serious, just for a moment, what is it that I do in this position? I act as an internal consultant to help individuals or groups make progress on or solve issues that have them stuck. I uncover the perceived issues, habituated work patterns, and thinking that lies beneath the surface and impedes progress. Through creativity and exploring different “unconventional” ways to show up in the workplace, I help create flow.I am also a leadership whisperer. It is not about whispering sweet leadership nothings during meetings; I see it as the ability to point people to their wisdom, problem-solving capabilities, and innate resilience. I orient people to how their internal climate affects their ability to lead and get work done.My superpowers in this position are my ability to deeply listen and my curiosity (luckily I am not a cat…)
