About Jamie Springston
Driven by a deep passion for social justice and advocacy, I am currently serving as a Civil Rights Specialist with the Federal Emergency Management Agency. With a background in social work, I am committed to profoundly impacting the lives of those who need it most.My journey in social work has been fueled by a desire to serve and uplift others. I have supported veterans through critical life challenges, helping them find hope and resilience. My work on the Board of Directors for Student Veterans of America has allowed me to advocate for over military-affiliated students, ensuring they receive the recognition and support they deserve.Through work with Child Protective Services and the Department of Veterans Assistance in West Virginia, I have confronted the complexities of social work head-on, advocating for children and veterans alike. These experiences have strengthened my resolve to fight for systemic change, to connect people with the resources they need, and to ensure that every voice is heard.I believe in the power of community, compassion, and courage. Whether I’m leading initiatives with the Veterans of Foreign Wars or facilitating healing programs at Marshall University, my mission is clear: to inspire, to advocate, and to create lasting, positive change.
