Responsible for the operation and management of business production systems, communication, data administration, networking, and helpdesk support.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:• Prepares and manages the Aquariums and departments technology budget• Oversees a 24/7 Information Technology operation that includes server and networking infrastructure, business production systems, exhibit technology, A/V systems and UHF Radio Networks• Select, develop, evaluate and maintains a highly qualified, motivated and diverse professional team; delegate specific responsibilities• Encourage teamwork, personal initiative and accountability, and discipline staff according to our policy.• Responsible for the design, implementation and administration of the server and networking environment to ensure all systems work at peak efficiency and effectiveness• Review and recommend hardware / software purchases and identify technological enhancements for the Aquarium• Develop policy and procedures relating to information technology• Coordinate vendor negotiations and monitor vendor contracts• Perform and / or supervise hands-on preventive and corrective maintenance on information technology and telecommunications equipment and networks• Establish Cyber Security compliance procedures for information.• Provide tier 2 and 3 technical support as part of the Information Technology Team • Administration of the file system, image and database backups, recovery and restoration• Administration of the antivirus EOP protection and antivirus updates• Administration of the Microsoft Active Directory Domain and Azure AD• Administration of the Hyper-V infrastructure • Administration of the SAN EMC Storage network• Administration of the Aquariums Office 365 environment• Maintain a knowledge that is current with applicable technology• Administration of the Aquarium’s cloud phone system.• Oversees new desktop software releases, system upgrades, and security patches
