About Jamie Morishima
I graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a degree in Sociology and a minor in Human Rights in 2019. I am currently a labor organizer at Service Employees International Union Local 721 in Los Angeles, CA. I have experience as a paralegal assistant at Fragomen, Del Rey, Bernsen & Lowey, LLP, a corporate immigration law firm, and as a legal intern at The Social Justice Collaborative, a non-profit immigration law firm. I also have experience in customer service through part-time jobs in the retail industry, working as a sales associate at Nordstroms, Victoria Secret, and Anthropologie. My classmates, instructors, and co-workers have described me as a motivated leader who\'s passionate, hard-working, and enthusiastic. I\'ve enjoyed community involvement and group collaboration through my involvement in the Pre-Law Fraternity, Phi Alpha Delta, and in the sorority, Sigma Kappa. In both of these organizations, I was an active member, in which I was on committees and participated in the planning and discussion of events. I plan to pursue a career in law or public policy in a major city on either coast. I plan to pursue a position in which I can help make meaningful changes in the lives of individuals, families, and communities. In the meanwhile, I continue to acquire new skills and build a solid professional network.
