About Jamie McMinn
Specializing in group dynamics and processes, I am a professor of psychology with 20 years of professional teaching experience at Westminster College, a small liberal arts institution. In addition to conducting research related to small groups and teaching and learning, I work with faculty and staff on assessment activities that support our institutional and program accreditation. I serve as Westminster\'s Accreditation Liaison Officer to the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. As Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, I work with students who experience academic struggles, helping them to identify plans and goals that lead to personal improvement and institutional retention. I advise students who are traveling abroad, as well as students who are designing individualized majors. I represent the Dean on the Academic Standards Committee and Outcomes Assessment Advisory Committee, and I represent institutional research functions on the President\'s Planning, Budget, and Institutional Research Council. As Assistant to the President for College Relations, I liaise with our Board of Trustees, Board of Distinguished Visitors, alumni, and area employers and foundations to identify potential partnerships that benefit our students and community. My responsibilities include foundation relations, grant writing, organization of activities related to the Board of Distinguished Visitors, and serving on the President\'s Leadership Team.Within my profession, I am an active member of the American Psychological Association, including the Society for the Teaching of Psychology (Division 2). I serve as the Society\'s program chair for the American Psychological Association\'s annual convention (20••••19). In this role, I solicit proposals for the Society\'s convention program; oversee the proposal evaluation process; create the final program; and organize the Society\'s social hour at the convention. I also serve as reader or table leader for the Advanced Placement exam.
