Jamie Kuang is a Tax Partner in the RSM US LLP real estate and private equity group in the San Francisco office. Jamie has more than 22 years of experience with partnership, REIT, corporate and individual income taxation.Jamie is a tax account leader in tax compliance, consulting and transaction due diligence engagements providing tax compliance, tax controversy, restructuring, and technical tax planning and advisory services to various real estate and private equity clients, including traded and non-traded REITs, real estate opportunity funds, hospitality funds, venture lending and leasing funds, sovereign wealth funds, corporate real estate companies, homebuilders, multinational corporation joint ventures and cleantech partnerships. Jamie has also been involved with real estate company IPOs. Jamie has deep technical proficiency as well as extensive real estate industry experience in areas such as open-ended Fund, corporate income tax provision, REIT qualification and due diligence, mortgage REIT tax issues, UBTI analysis and reporting with respect to tax-exempt investors (including pension funds), cancellation of debt and bad debt issues related to distressed debt workouts, mezzanine partnership tax allocation issues, analysis of fund and partnership agreement provisions, multistate tax and withholding tax issues and cross-border tax issues.
