At Estrela Consulting, we offer a personalized approach to the college and school planning process. We work closely with each of our students along their journey, offering as much support and guidance as needed. We offer assistance with the school search process, practice interviewing, application review, and help guide the scholarship/financial aid process. Our approach is student-centered and highly individualized based on the needs of the family- Conduct college and career planning meetings with students in grades 8-12- Review aptitude & personality assessments- Prioritize financial concerns- Create individualized college lists- Coordinate informational interviews for career exploration - Research and recommend summer experiences- Coordinate college visits and prep students for what to ask - Review applications- Conduct essay writing workshops and proofread essays- Conduct mock interviews for selective schools and programs- Assist with financial aid/scholarship research, FAFSA and CSS Profile questions, and understanding financial aid awards- Complete approximately 10 hours/week of college research and professional development- Design action plans and testing timelines for each students’ individual college preparation- Host family meetings with each student and their parents- Utilize YouScience and Custom College Plan for student career activities and the college application process- Present 5-10 community-based college planning presentations/year
