ABOUT JAMIE JONES

With over two decades of experience as a registered nurse and nearly two decades in nursing education, I am committed to preparing future nurses through mentorship, evidence-based teaching, and student-centered academic leadership.I currently serve as Director of the Accelerated BSN Program at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Northwest Regional Campus in Fayetteville, Arkansas. In this role, I lead curriculum implementation, faculty development, and student progression within an intensive, concept-based program designed to meet the evolving demands of contemporary healthcare.Previously, I served as an Academic Coach and course coordinator in the Traditional BSN program at UAMS in Little Rock, where I focused on academic success strategies, NCLEX readiness, and individualized student support. My teaching expertise centers on adult medical-surgical and critical care nursing, with a strong emphasis on instructional design grounded in Bloom’s Taxonomy and concept-based learning frameworks. My clinical background spans Level I trauma centers, rural emergency departments, medical-surgical practice, interventional radiology, home infusion therapy, and leadership in long-term care. These experiences continue to shape my approach to nursing education by strengthening the integration of clinical reasoning, professional identity formation, and real-world practice readiness. As a Certified Nurse Educator, I am dedicated to cultivating resilience, professionalism, and clinical competence in the next generation of nurses, preparing them to deliver safe, compassionate, and high-quality care across diverse healthcare environments.
