ABOUT JAMIE JAMISON C.

I’m a strategist, team builder, and public servant at heart. Over the past two decades, I’ve had the privilege of working at the highest levels of government, philanthropy, and nonprofit leadership — always in service of equity, civic engagement, and institutional excellence.Currently, I serve as Chief of Staff at the Mellon Foundation, the nation’s largest funder of the arts and humanities. Before that, I held senior roles in both the Obama and Biden White Houses, most recently as Principal Deputy Director of the Office of Public Engagement, where I helped lead nationwide engagement efforts reaching over people each week.My work has spanned presidential transitions, public health crises, and large-scale organizational change. I’ve built fundraising teams from the ground up, managed thousands of political appointments, and helped institutions navigate moments of transformation with clarity and care. What unites all of this is a commitment to people — building trust, developing talent, and making sure communities feel seen, heard, and empowered.In recognition of this work, I was named to the OUT100 by Out Magazine in 2024, and profiled by Runner’s World and InsideHook for using endurance running as a platform to raise awareness and funds for gun violence prevention. I believe how we show up — across sectors, across communities, and even on the roads we run — matters.
