Responsibility for the chemical process operators within the glycerolisis plant, delivering and ensuring maximum plant and Health, Safety and Environmental performance to agreed targets and KPI’s. • Leading the team to ensure optimum day to day operational performance to required standards.• Providing practical and hands on assistance to Senior Operator and Operators as required to ensure tasks are carried out to the required standard for both safety and productivity• Liaising with the Plant Manager to review performance of operators throughout the shift using the PCS to monitor trends and shift walk around.• Monitoring plant performance and communicating progress against targets to shift personnel.• Actively managing the team to ensure KPI’s, plant performance targets are met and visual management system updated• Obtaining samples, and testing in the laboratory and interpret results and take remedial action if necessary• Ensuring commissioning activities are carried out to agreed plan and amendments logged and SOP’s updated to reflect implemented changes• Actively promoting a team-working environment and always leading by example• Responsibility for carrying out simple planned maintenance activities and reacting to unplanned/breakdown work within competencies otherwise request assistance from Maintenance • Actively participating in addressing Safety, Health and Environmental issues affecting the production areas, ensuring the relevant Risk assessments, and Standard Operating Procedures are in place and Safety, Health & Environmental checks are carried out, and housekeeping to standard.• Ensure clear and concise handovers are undertaken and effective communication between shift teams • Making clear and prompt decisions, prioritizing when coinciding issues occur, considering all risks to the chemical process and people.• Taking the initiative and acting with confidence under my own direction.
