ABOUT JAMES WARD
Here\'s my story about how I went from your typical underpaid university student to managing a 6-figure business with over in home services sales in 3 years. Prior to my second year at Western University, I was working typical student jobs. I worked back shop at Taboo\'s golf course in Muskoka and then went on to work on the maintenance crew the following year which involved cutting grass and raking bunkers. I then thought I would switch things up and try interning as a financial analyst at The Heart and Stroke Foundation. After trying out all these typical student summer jobs, I felt very unfulfilled and realized I wasn\'t actually gaining any skills that set me apart from my peers. None of these jobs were helping me get closer to the big future I was hoping for. In my second year at Western, everything changed. During one of my lectures at the start of the year someone from Student Works explained what the program was and I thought I\'d put my name down on the sign up sheet and see what it was all about. Little did I know, that was one of the best decisions I have ever made. With the great mentorship I have received and the leadership skills I have been able to develop, I did over $100K in revenue in 2023. With even bigger goals in 2024, I learned the skills of delegation and recruiting which really helped me scale my business. I was able to manage over 20 employees, win operator of the year, and generate over in business. And this past year, I was able to coach other students on how to run their first profitable business while doing just under $400K in revenue. Going into 2026 I will be full-time coaching a team of 16-18 students on how to run their first businesses while doing my best to help them unlock their entrepreneurial potential. I have a burning passion for entrepreneurship and I am addicted to the growth and development that running your own business brings. Although I am not sure what type of company I\'d like to run in the future, I am certain that the game of entrepreneurship is for me. If you or anyone you know wants to separate themselves from their classmates, earn more, and learn skills that will put you way ahead of your peers, feel free to send me a message!
