COMPANY DESCRIPTON: Founded in 2006, Orolia became the world leader in Resilient PNT in just a few years, as one of the few global providers of precise, rugged and reliable Positioning, Navigation, Timing (PNT) solutions that are critical for governments, military, aerospace, and defense markets. In early 2019, Orolia Defense & Security, now Safran Federal Systems, spun off as a separate entity from its parent company with the mission of providing resilient Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT) solutions and custom engineering services to U.S. Government agencies, U.S. Defense organizations, and their contractors. Safran is approved to work on the full spectrum of U.S. Government classified and unclassified projects and is positioned to support strategic partnerships in the development of key PNT technologies for the defense market.RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee three company general ledgers, including documentation and approval of journal entries, reconciliations, and other workpapers to support the company’s 1-day financial close process. Responsible for outbound financial reporting to parent and sister companies utilizing SAP Convergence, including translation from U.S. GAAP financial statements to IFRS financial statements. Partner with CFO to contribute meaningful insights into strategic direction of the organization, including consulting on the 5-year strategic plan and rolling forecasts to the parent company.

James is responsible for consolidated GAAP and IFRS financial reporting and oversees a team of accountants, financial analysts, and internal audit and compliance analysts.James earned BBA degrees in Accounting and Finance and an MBA from St. Bonaventure University. Starting his career in public accounting, he earned his CPA designation in his first year at Bonadio & Co. After 3 years in public, James made the move to one of his clients. Since, he has held management level positions in finance and accounting departments across a variety of companies and industries, including defense, non-profit, senior living, and start-up VC-funded organizations. James is also passionate about the successful financial operation of mission-driven non-profits, volunteering on the Finance Team at Grace Road Church.James lives in Webster, NY with his wife and 3 children.
