ABOUT JAMES SHARP
I’m a creative and design leader with 15 years’ experience in retail, working across product, packaging, stores, POS, print, and digital. I’ve always enjoyed taking ideas from early concept through to reality and making sure they land well for customers, teams, and the business.People are definitely at the heart of how I lead. For the past 10 years, I’ve built and led high-performing teams that consistently score above benchmark in employee engagement surveys. Creating supportive, trusting environments where people can do their best work really matters to me.In my current role, I lead the end-to-end delivery of Own Brand packaging, covering packaging innovation, structural design, graphic design, and artwork across a global portfolio. I look after the brand’s visual identity and work closely with in-house teams and external partners to bring creatively strong, high-quality, and compliant packaging to market.A big part of my focus has been improving how we work. That’s meant simplifying processes helping reduce rework and in the process we\'ve had some big wins. Including landing over 150 V1 artwork approvals and improving right-first-time performance along the way.I’m a big believer in learning as you go. I completed my Level 5 Leadership and Management apprenticeship with CMI and was really proud to be named Holland and Barrett’s Apprentice of the Year, an experience that helped shape my leadership style and reinforced that sense of curiosity and continuous improvement.I\'m passionate about great design, clever concepts and thoughtful innovation. Always happy to connect, swap notes, or have a chat about design, leadership, and making things better.
