Most people don\'t think about the network. That\'s the goal.I manage the full district infrastructure — LAN architecture, switching and routing, firewall, wireless, WAN and internet, IP/DNS, network access control via Clearpass, VoIP and phone systems, structured cabling, and monitoring across all facilities. When something breaks, I\'m the last line before it becomes everyone\'s problem. When nothing breaks, the network is invisible. The relationships aren\'t.That\'s the job done right.Beyond day-to-day operations, I lead long-term infrastructure planning — E-Rate cycles, building expansions, vendor relationships, refresh projects. The work is technical, but the purpose is simple: remove the noise so teachers can teach and students can learn.Three employers in thirty years. I don\'t chase titles — I build things that last.

I started in technology at age 10 with a DOS manual I wasn\'t supposed to touch.My dad bought a computer for his home business and told the kids to leave it alone. I read the manual, typed in the commands, and the rest of my siblings gathered around to watch. That was it — I knew right then what I wanted to do.Forty years later, not much has changed.I\'ve spent my career building things that run quietly in the background so other people can focus on what they actually came to do. From managing a statewide ISP network for customers at 23 years old, to sales engineering across six states for CenturyLink, to building an engineering team from scratch and growing into VP of Project Engineering — I\'ve done the technical work, the customer work, and the leadership work. All three at once, most of the time.In 2020 I made a deliberate move back to hands-on technical work in K-12 education. I\'ve rebuilt infrastructure from the ground up — network, firewall, virtualization, disaster recovery, phone systems, monitoring — because that\'s the job. When the network is invisible, the teachers teach and the students learn. That\'s the whole point.What I\'ve learned about myself: I\'m best when I\'m close to the technical layer, teaching someone, or solving a problem that hasn\'t been solved yet. I\'m not chasing a bigger title. I\'m looking for the right problem.Three employers in thirty years.
