ABOUT JAMES N KRYSHAK
James Kryshak,(USA), has been an ensemble member with the Vienna State Opera (2013-15) and Deutsche Oper Berlin (2016-18) before embarking on a freelance career as a Character Tenor. He has sung with many other leading companies including; The Metropolitan Opera, Chicago Lyric Opera, Opera National de Lyon, Teatro Nacional de São Carlos, San Francisco Opera, Glyndebourne Opera, English Touring Opera, Opera Ballet Vlaanderen, Madison Opera, Wolf Trap Opera, The Cleveland Symphony, the Netherlands Radio Philarmonic, and the Bergen Philharmonic. Among James’ most notable engagements, he premiered the role of Hitler in Aleksander Raskatov’s new opera, GerMANIA with Opéra de Lyon, was featured in the role of Achilles in Gluck’s opera Iphigénie en Aulide (Wagner revision) with the National Moravian Silesian Theater in Ostrava, Czech Republic, as well as made his debut at the Edinburgh Festival with the Bergen Philharmonic as a Jew in Salome. In 2016 he was featured as the tenor soloist on the premiere recording of Jakub Jan Ryba’s Stabat Mater with L’armonia terrena. James will once again work with composer, Aleksander Raskatov in the role of Squealer, the Pig, for the upcoming premiere of Animal Farm at Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam, together with conductor Bassem Akiki and stage director Damiano Michieletto. The role has been written and created for Mr. Kryshak. Together with composer, David Dies, James is creating a song cycle for Tenor, Piano and Cello, set to Federico Garcia Lorca\'s poems; El Divan del Tamarit. The project is planned to be premiered in 2023 in London.Prior to his European engagements he completed two seasons with the Patrick G. and Shirley W. Ryan Opera Center at Lyric Opera of Chicago (2010-12).
