Senior DevOps Engineer working within the Digital departments Container Squad on the Azure Kubernetes Team.As a senior member of the squad I have helped plan sprints by prioritizing epics, tasks, stories and spikes during Agile sprint ceremonies, I have planned current and future sprints with estimated story points to deliver through both fortnightly and monthly sprints. I have additionally taken on Line Manager responsibilities and line managed members of staff within the Container Squad.I have delivered an automated highly available AKS container platform to host internal DWP Azure containerized applications. I have lead migrations to onboard Azure applications onto the AKS cluster.I have written terraform automated deployments to deploy Azure networking, security, storage and compute infrastructure to host the AKS cluster. The environment and cluster are deployed/configured via a GitLab pipeline including InSpec testing.I have written InSpec tests via the Chef Framework coding in the Ruby language.I have configured a GitOps tool called ArgoCD to sync GitLab hosted Kubernetes manifest files to deploy DWP applications as ArgoCD apps to the AKS cluster.

At the University of Sunderland I graduated in 2015 with a 1st Class Honours Degree in BSc (Hons) Computing, which included completing an industrial placement year at Northumbria Police. After University I joined the Hewlett Packard two year graduate scheme and at DXC I worked in the DevOps department for over 5 years. After establishing myself in DevOps I started working at DWP Digital where I am now a Senior DevOps Engineer working on automating Azure Cloud Infrastructure.
