Jim Lutzweiler brings a rare and comprehensive portfolio of 25 years of expertise and experience across the spectrum of economic and social program development to improve the lives of people. He has worked for and with every facet and major stakeholder type – from foundations, corporations and government entities that sponsor development, to NGOs and companies that implement them in host countries. His perspective and insight on what works and what doesn’t in various situational contexts is invaluable creating mission-driven coalitions and developing public-private partnerships. His skillset includes strategic planning and tactical execution within challenging, dynamic environments, public policy formulation and market development, advocacy and consumer strategies, shared value partnership business models, project management, international relations and corporate affairs, philanthropic funding and grants, foreign trade and aid policy, emergency response programs, building high performing teams and organizational development.He developed and applied these skills with a global perspective through working and living in 80 countries in his career, most recently at the Foundation for a Smoke-Free World. In his 10 years resident in West and Southern Africa, Jim worked for Joint Aid Management, World Vision and Catholic Relief Services to expand and improve food security, drive agricultural recovery and market development, initiate school feeding programs, and develop and implement emergency response programs. At PepsiCo and AARP Foundation, he developed strategies and shared value partnerships to encourage consumer uptake of healthier foods, address systemic causes of elderly hunger, and devised public-private partnerships with the healthcare and retail grocery sectors to increase nutrition and food security among older adults. He was also a founding member of the Root Cause Coalition, a diverse group of hospital systems, nonprofits, and corporate partners dedicated to making hunger a health issue embedded within the social determinants of health.
