I am a senior communications and digital marketing consultant with 14 years of experience in the government and defense sectors. I began my career as a journalist covering the U.S. military, followed by more than half a decade as a government consultant serving a diverse set of clients including the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Defense Health Agency, and the District of Columbia Fire and Emergency Medical Services.I joined Cerner Government Services in January of 2022, as a media relations manager, before stepping into a broader role as a senior communications partner, following Oracle\'s acquisition of the company.Until May 2021, I worked for Granicus, a technology firm that empowers modern digital government at the municipal, state, and federal level. As part of the Granicus team, I strove to bring citizens and government closer together by devising novel solutions that improve and enrich customer experiences through effective communication, improved records management, streamlined online self-service solutions and more.From May to August 2019, I worked as a Booz Allen Hamilton strategic communications consultant supporting Department of Veterans Affairs\' efforts to overhaul the Transition Assistance Program, a Congressionally-mandated curriculum that helps more than transitioning service members each year find success as they pursue education, employment or entrepreneurial endeavors. From February 2017 until April 2019 I served on the Real Warriors Campaign at the Defense Centers of Excellence for Psychological Health and Traumatic Brain Injury. The award-winning social marketing Campaign works to reduce stigma associated with psychological health concerns which is a common barrier to effective treatment in the military community.From October 2015 to February 2017, I worked as a consultant in the Defense Health Agency’s TRICARE Beneficiary Publications Office. There I spearheaded efforts to overhaul TRICARE’s publications suite with plain language, innovative layout and rich graphics. The result was a plain-language suite of print and digital publications that ensured TRICARE’s 9.5 million beneficiaries understood their benefits and could access healthcare when they needed it most. Before joining Booz Allen in 2015, I spent nearly a decade working as a journalist, first along the U.S-Mexico Border for the San Antonio Express-News and then as a defense reporter at Military Times covering U.S. military operations, NATO, defense procurement, cybersecurity, and terrorism.

   Small-boat crewman assigned to a rapid-response expeditionary unit responsible for protecting high-value assets and conducting anti-terrorism force protection operations. Completed Direct Entry Petty Officer Training in May 2023, an accelerated boot camp program for individuals with advanced education and relevant experience. Completed Boatswain\'s Mate school at Coast Guard Training Center Yorktown, Virginia, in September 2023.
