About James Koch

With a high focus in Cloud Computing, Automated Testing in pipelines, Total Quality Management, and Software Quality Engineering, I strive to understand, diagnose, and correct behaviors by formulating solutions in software and other day-to-day business operations to reach optimal performance. I apply my operations background to software development which compliment my Agile and DevSecOps practices. I understand philosophies for automating testing by being well versed in the most popular frameworks. I apply automation frameworks to develop, execute, organize, and maintain test plans to better assist clients getting through testing in an effective efficient manner.    Cruise Industry- Responsible for QE Discovery; creating and implementing test strategy for green-field backend application. Developed framework for contract tests with Axios and Jest; integration tests with AWS SDK and Jest. Implemented tests in pipelines using Serverless, CloudFormation, and Terraform. Pharmaceutical Industry- Conducted a lift and shift on a Selenium 3.14 framework to WebDriver.IO. The medical information portal written with React.js application so parody with the programming language was first objective. Developed API tests for the Java Springboot backend with REST Assured.Automotive Industry- Developed test automation against React front ends with Playwright for web and WebDriver.IO for mobile which extended into BrowserStack; backend test automation utilized xUnit framework against dotnet. Responsible for day-to-day sprint activities and coaching junior team members.Energy Industry- Developed data pipeline tests with AWS SDK and Rest Assured. The team’s purpose was to connect hardware data from sensors in refineries and pass it to a propriety energy saving algorithm to adjust oxygen and fuel levels. This required us to test EventBridge events to S3. Black and White-box approaches were implored to validate User Story sprint work. Helped client implement Agile practices by setting up sprint and program ceremonies.
