ABOUT JAMES JOHNSTON

I am a CPA with extensive experience in public accounting, providing audit and assurance services under both PCAOB, CAS, and ISA standards for publicly listed and private companies across industries including consumer goods, construction, real estate, mining, and green financing.Throughout my career, I’ve developed a strong foundation in financial reporting, risk assessment, and data analysis. What I’ve enjoyed most is the forward-looking and value-add aspect of the work, using data and insights to help organizations understand performance trends and make informed decisions in complex and evolving business environments.I began my career developing foundational accounting and analytic skills as a bookkeeper, where I managed a diverse client portfolio and ensured the timely preparation of year-end financial statements. With experience in both Hong Kong and Vancouver, I bring a global perspective given my exposure to diverse industries, regulatory systems, and market dynamics. I bring a balance of technical accounting depth, data literacy, and cross-industry perspective, along with growing expertise in financial modelling and performance analysis.Outside of work, I represented Hong Kong in regional and world championships in sailing which instilled a disciplined and results-driven approach that I now apply in day-to-day.
