I have experience in higher education as an administrator, program assessor, researcher, writer, and educator.AdministrationExperience in higher education administration in various capacities. I currently serve as Director, Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) and Chair, Institutional Review Board (IRB) at Northwestern State University.(See the descriptions in the Experience section for details.)Research Formal training and experience in research methods, both quantitative and qualitative, including statistical analysis. I employ this knowledge base for projects in my research fields of IRB effectiveness, linguistics, and Teaching English as a Second Language. I also provide consultation on new research projects for faculty, staff, and students for the HRPP/IRB and teach effective research practices in graduate and undergraduate courses.Program Assessment Experience in higher education academic program assessment. Most recently, I served for four years as Coordinator for the annual, university-wide Humanities Assessment Program, leading a team of faculty assessors to gather and analyze student academic performance data and report our findings to the university administration and its regional accreditor. Curriculum Development Designed and founded the Graduate Program in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) in 2012, serve as the current Program Coordinator and Academic Advisor, and teach a variety of courses in the program.
