ABOUT JAMES HIGSON
I’m an independent design engineer based in Bristol, with nearly a decade of experience in product design. I’ve created award-winning consumer goods and automotive products. Previously I’ve worked at global technology companies like Dyson and Arrival, as well as smaller start-ups such as Perceptual Robotics and Matter. Recently I co-founded a company called deko to create high quality, sustainable furniture using local suppliers and manufacturers in the UK. I have experience in the full product development cycle, from user research to concept development, prototyping, testing, manufacturing (inc. injection moulding, casting, extrusion etc…) and everything in-between. I like to solve problems in a simple and effective way. I create thoughtful and functional products by understanding requirements and rationalising design decisions.
