Perform general nuclear medicine and nuclear cardiology studies including patient assessment, preparation, education, transfer and positioning, image acquisition, monitoring patient status during testing/imaging, and image processing at five different locations utilizing five different gamma camera systems. Ensure completed patient studies are finalized, charged/billed, uploaded to the hospital’s digital imaging archive system (PACS/DICOM/AGFA) in a timely manner. Arrange for or schedule patient transportation to and from the nuclear medicine department in support of scheduled tests. Respond to the radiologist’s questions regarding testing or imaging or requests for additional imaging. Perform routine equipment quality assurance. Actively minimize radiation exposure to self, patients, and the public. Safely handle radioactive materials. Maintain continuing education in accordance with the requirements of my certifications and state license.
