Whether it is protecting an idea for a new device or method, a name for a new company, or the aesthetic representation embodied by a new work of art, I can help.A primary focus of my law practice is patent prosecution - applying for and obtaining patents on ideas conceived by my clients. My clients include individual inventors seeking patent protection only in the United States, Fortune 500 companies with global patent portfolios, and everything in between. I have prosecuted patents in diverse technology fields that range from oil and gas production to food chemistry, medical devices to computer software, and electronics accessories. I leverage contacts with law firms in virtually every industrialized country to help clients obtain worldwide patent protection.My practice also involves representing clients who already have patents and need help enforcing their patent rights in court. I also defend clients against claims made against them for patent infringement. In particular, I have defended clients in lawsuits filed by non-practicing entities.Many clients also need assistance protecting their brand name or tagline, and I have helped clients register trademarks in the United States and many other countries worldwide. Some clients create works of art or literature that need copyright protection. I have registered such works with the U.S. Copyright Office, and represented clients in copyright infringement lawsuits in federal court.I understand that intellectual property rights are among a company’s most valuable assets, and have been successful in helping companies build strong intellectual property portfolios.
