About James Garcia

Hello, I’m James Garcia, a proud Ecuadorian and a fourth-year Mechanical Engineering major at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering. My academic background and hands-on experience have provided me with a strong foundation in mechanical engineering, multiple CAD softwares, prototyping, 3D printing, and manufacturing. This past summer, I had the privilege of interning at General Motors as an Engineering Design Intern in the Advanced Vehicle Development Chassis department. During this experience, I applied cutting-edge CAD and simulation tools to support the design and validation of complex future vehicle systems. The role sharpened my technical expertise in system integration and data-driven engineering, while also exposing me to the scale, precision, and collaboration required to bring next-generation automotive innovations to life.Previously, I interned at NANOV Display Inc. as a Computer-Aided Design Technician, later contributing as a part-time employee during the academic year. There, I honed my skills in CAD, prototyping, and project management, delivering practical design solutions that supported product development and customer-facing projects. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been passionate about design and the automotive industry. The innovation, technology, and precision required in this field continually inspire me to approach engineering challenges with creativity and excellence. Whether it’s designing reliable solutions or exploring the engineering feats of industries like Formula One, I’m driven by a fascination with how cutting-edge technology shapes the future of mobility and performance.Looking ahead, I am eager to broaden my expertise across both engineering and business disciplines to become a well-rounded professional capable of delivering impactful solutions. My diverse experiences have taught me to be adaptable, solution-oriented, and committed to creating efficient and reliable designs that address real-world challenges.Let’s connect—I’m always open to exploring new opportunities, collaborating on innovative projects, and exchanging ideas with others who share a passion for excellence in engineering and design.
