About James Wright
I\'ve always been interested in making things and understanding how they can work better. Throughout my career at Stanford, I\'ve been able to explore my interests in analyzing and building systems while broadening my knowledge base. Studying mechanical engineering, I\'ve enjoyed dynamic systems analysis, rapid prototyping and additive manufacturing, static failure analysis, and thermo-fluids engineering and simulation. As I look towards what\'s next, I hope to help teams create robust systems and components that not only progress their work, but also help the broader communities around them.

Sep 2022 — Present · Barcelona, ES
My role as a cycling sailor (cyclor) and systems engineer involves developing and racing AC75 sailing yachts to compete in the 37th America\'s Cup in Barcelona, Spain. Onboard the AC75, my team and I produce hydraulic power to actuate onboard sail functions. On base, I help to validate and test hydraulic systems models to be used throughout our engineering development processes.
