About James Pratt

I am currently a sophomore in the Business Fellows Honors program at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where I am pursuing dual majors in Finance and Accounting with collaterals in Real Estate and Entrepreneurship in the Haslam College of Business. In addition, I look forward to pursing advance coursework in the Honors Finance Track, where I will acquire practical experience. Another area that I have made strides in is in carrying out detailed work and analytical thinking were honed during the course of my internship at Patton Albertson and Miller, during the summer of 2025. I contributed to portfolio analysis, market research, and the potential acquisition of a business operation that entailed preparing financial analysis and strategic growth plans. In addition to those areas of strength, leadership is another area that I have made strides in, courtesy of my membership in Sigma Alpha Epsilon, I have been elected to both the Treasurer and the Co-Chaplain roles. Looking towards the future, I hope to develop a career in the field of finance, focusing on real estate and capital markets. In the summer of 2026, I am excited to intern at CBRE in Nashville in the capital markets debt and structured finance group, furthering my understanding of the underwriting and evaluation process for deals in CRE financing. In the end, it is my hope that I can secure work in investment banking, private equity, or the capital markets of commercial real estate, utilizing my analytical abilities in making important financial decisions. Additionally, it is my hope that I can continue to develop as a leader and professional in life, taking on challenging situations and building strong relationships in the businesses that I am involved in.
