About Jim Welsh

As the Global Marketing Manager for Catalysts & Licensing, Jim leads a global team of Engineers and Licensing Experts responsible for developing, scaling, and delivering differentiated Catalysts and Technology Licensing Solutions around the world. His mission is to solve the world\'s toughest technology problems critical for ExxonMobil to lead in the energy transition and consistently deliver value for society. Jim joined the Company in 2009 and has held a variety of domestic and international roles with expanding leadership responsibilities starting as design engineer in Fairfax, Virgina, then pursing several project engineering roles abroad in Saudi Arabia and The Netherlands, before assuming a series of manufacturing leadership roles in Baton Rouge. In 2021, he returned to Spring, Texas as the Polypropylene & Vistmaxx Supply Chain Manager and in 2023, Jim became the Senior Business Advisor for the Senior Vice President of ExxonMobil Chemical Products before assuming his current position in January of 2025. Jim earned his Bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering from The Ohio State University, and received an MBA with a major in Finance from the University of North Carolina. Jim is married with four children. He enjoys all sporting activities and traveling with his family.
