My clients appreciate the tailored advice I provide to them. Without an in-depth review of their personal circumstances and assets, clients may not be aware of their exposure to inheritance tax and the risk of their plans failing. I provide clients with a solution to this problem.I advise on succession planning, looking at client’s individual circumstances and ultimate aims in passing on their wealth. This may involve a full inheritance tax review, a gifting strategy, the use of trusts and other tax-efficient solutions, and preparing a bespoke will that achieves the client’s aims in the most tax-efficient manner. I assist trustees with the administration of trusts, providing them with advice on issues of trust compliance, governance and tax, so that they can be reassured that they are meeting their obligations and fulfilling their duties. I have a particular interest in assisting clients when things go wrong and the administration of trusts or estates become contentious. At Aberdein Considine we have a multi-disciplinary approach to trust and estate disputes, with expertise drawn from our private client and dispute resolution teams to provide solutions through negotiation, mediation or, if necessary, court action. Following a bereavement, I assist the executors with the administration of the estate.
