ABOUT JAMES CROUCH
I\'m a finance and operations executive who spent nearly two decades at Morgan Stanley, most recently as Deputy COO of Institutional Equities and Global Head of Client Revenue Management, where I oversaw $300M+ in revenue and led a 20-person global team through significant regulatory and structural change. Before that, I ran the international equity sales business on the West Coast and held business development roles at Citigroup and Credit Lyonnais.Today, I work with private companies and founders as a fractional CFO and strategic advisor through Laurel Street Capital. My current work includes leading a financial restructuring for a wholesale distribution business — building the financial model, managing daily cash flow, engaging investors and creditors, and driving the operational changes needed to restore financial health.I also advise early-stage and growth companies on capital strategy, financial modeling, investor engagement, and go-to-market planning across sectors, including clean tech, CPG, and fintech.I bring an institutional finance lens to private company problems — the rigor of a global bank applied to businesses where every dollar and every decision matters more. I\'m especially effective in situations that require building financial infrastructure from scratch, preparing a business for investment or exit, or bringing operational discipline to a founder-led company navigating a transition.I chair the Board Director Opportunities Committee for the San Francisco chapter of the Private Directors Association and hold governance credentials in both private equity and private company settings.
