About James Craig

James Craig holds a position as Tribal Councilman of the Tunica-Biloxi Tribe of Louisiana, contributing his extensive experience in governance, operation and program management, and strategic planning to serve the Tribe. In addition to his role as Councilman, Mr. Craig is a member of the Tunica-Biloxi Gaming Authority Board for Paragon Casino & Resort and serves on the Tribal Gaming Protection Network Board of Directors, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to regulatory outreach, services, and education in the Tribal Gaming industry. Born and raised in Chicago, Mr. Craig\'s upbringing was deeply influenced by the rich cultural heritage of the Tunica-Biloxi Tribe, preserved and passed down by his elders and fellow tribal members. As an advocate for the Tribe, Mr. Craig actively collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to further the Tribe\'s vision for tribal self-governance and economic development, all while adhering to their guiding principle:\"Cherishing our past and building for our future.\" With Mr. Craig\'s leadership, the Tunica-Biloxi Tribe has achieved significant milestones, such as the completion of a multi-million dollar hotel renovation, and expansion of sports betting operations. Additionally, Mr. Craig has been instrumental in securing federal funding for housing, community development, and technology infrastructure projects aimed at improving the Tribe\'s reservation. His efforts have also contributed to the successful reclamation of ancestral homelands. Mr. Craig\'s distinguished military career spans over 20 years, during which he has served in the United States Army, United States Air Force Reserves, and Army National Guard. He currently holds the rank of Staff Sergeant and serves as an Interrogation Operations Sergeant, overseeing a dedicated team of soldiers conducting international matters interrogations. His service includes two deployments to Iraq in Operation: Iraqi Freedom and one deployment to Afghanistan in Operation Enduring Freedom, with roles as Infantry Team Leader and Security Forces Squad Leader. Prior to his current roles, Mr. Craig has held positions at several national firms, including Bank of America, MB Financial, and Harley Davidson. He now resides in Marksville, LA, on the Tunica-Biloxi Indian Reservation, where he continues to make a positive impact on his community and the Tribe.
