About James Clinton Francis
James Clinton Francis is passionate about solving 21st century challenges of international peace, prosperity, and security. Throughout his career, James has been afforded unique vantage points to the financial, operational, and strategic inner workings of the agricultural, infrastructure and public utilities, natural resource, and retail and consumer packaged goods industries. His key professional achievements have been growing product lines through innovation initiatives and launches, as well as winning long-term supplier agreements; leading and executing large-scale, transformative capital investment projects; and advising businesses on the viability of mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, joint-ventures, and restructurings. James also has expertise in providing macro and sovereign analysis for large institutional investors, as well as deep knowledge of U.S-Africa relations. James is a graduate of Columbia University (LAW ‘24, CC ‘10) and the University of Pennsylvania (WG ‘21), and has served his community through volunteer leadership with the Telluride Association, the Chicago Humanities Festival, Partners in Food Solutions, and Scouting America.

Kellen Term Member Program provides young professionals in government, media, nongovernmental organizations, law, business, finance, and academia the opportunity to participate in a sustained conversation on international affairs and U.S. foreign policy. The program allows these younger members to interact with seasoned foreign policy experts and participate in a wide variety of events designed especially for them. Each year, a new class of term members is elected to serve a fixed five-year membership term.
