About James Collins
Jim joined PAYETTE in 1979, was named partner in 1986, and succeeded Tom as President in 1998. Jim gained early recognition as Project Architect for the world-renowned Lewis Thomas Laboratory at Princeton, and is passionate about seeking innovative solutions beyond the immediate problem. One of the design leaders of the firm, he has won over 50 national and regional AIA design awards. Jim, who holds BS, BArch and MBA degrees from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, was elevated to FAIA in 2009 in recognition of his achievements in design.
