The Air Training Corps is a uniformed youth organisation that provides a variety of activities and experiences for young people from 13 through to 20 years of age. As OC Wing for Bristol & Gloucestershire Wing ATC, I am responsible for the development of Wing Strategy as well as providing direction and guidance on various matters affecting delivery of the cadet experience within the Wing area.

ABOUT JAMES BRIMBLE

I am a Chartered Engineer with over 27 years’ experience in the Aerospace, Space and Defence Industries, working primarily on Civil & Military gas turbine engine development programmes.Specialties: Systems Engineering (requirements elicitation, systems thinking, engineering management planning, architecture framework, risk & hazard analysis and system safety). Development Engineering (verification and validation strategy management, design of experiments, test management, engine technical support - build & test, flight clearance and certification compliance). Engine Control Systems (hydromechanical fuel systems, digital engine control and engine health monitoring) As a Member of IfSE and a Fellow of the RAeS, I have spent time promoting engineering professional development through both national and local representation of the Royal Aeronautical Society. For two years I was Chairman of the Society\'s Young Members\' Section and served as an ex-officio member of RAeS Council. During my tenure, I led the development of the Section\'s future strategy, which laid the foundations for the creation of a Young Members\' Board. I am currently a committee member of the Society’s Bristol Branch, holding the position of Honorary Treasurer, providing financial management and controlIn my spare time I enjoy going to the gym, skiing, flying and volunteering with the RAF Air Cadets as a uniformed member of staff - my service with which has been recognised by the award of Certificates of Meritorious Service by HM Lord Lieutenant of the City & County of Bristol and Commandant Air Cadets.
