The overarching responsibility of the planning engineer is to ensure that activities under their control are planned, monitored and clearly communicated to the manager responsible for delivery (delivery managers are those with accountability for delivery of work scope). As well as assisting with the production, updating and monitoring of the Mensa Completion Schedule (MCS), they will be expected to assist with the production of short term look ahead schedules produced in conjunction with the delivery managers. They will provide innovative methods of displaying progress/ lack of progress to give clarity to delivery managers on the status of performance. They will provide Earned Value Analysis in accordance with the project rhythm.
