I have a passion for passing down experience and knowledge to those in need of help, and this is the perfect way to do that.The Creative Mentor Network was set up in 2014 by Teach First alumni, Isabel Farchy. Working with young people from lower socio-economic backgrounds, she saw the barriers many faced to pursuing a fulfilling career in the creative industries – and the talent that the creative industries were missing out on.

ABOUT JAMES MANSELL
I’m a highly motivated and passionate filmmaker who thrives on discovering new and innovative ways to create unforgettable moments through film.I have almost a decade of experience creating award winning branded, social, corporate and event content in live-action and animation for global brands like Nissan, HSBC, Lloyds Banking Group, AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Royal Mail and the BBC. I approach all my work with a unique blended skillset derived from my background working in scripted and unscripted broadcast television, large scale event centrepieces and corporate content delivery. I worked at the television facilities company Procam TV for 5 years where I gained invaluable experience in the intricacies of broadcast television production, technically and editorially. As a camera operator, I worked on primetime shows such as The Great British Bake Off, Derren Brown and Made In Chelsea. This gives me a distinct end-to-end vision to the work I produce and gives me elevated hands on experience when shooting on location. I’m well versed in the realties of client pressure for both the internal and external teams I manage, and also the client themselves. I pride myself in the ability to approach all challenges in a personable, flexible and solution drive way. I’ve written and directed award winning short films that have screened at over 50 festivals worldwide and are available to stream on platforms such as Amazon Prime Video and Samsung TV Plus. Aside from filmmaking, I’ve written short stories and published articles on creativity and the filmmaking process for websites like Raindance and Little Black Book.
