Provides design engineering, cost estimates and project management activities for overhead and underground, transmission, sub-transmission and distribution systems. Working with customers, and other internal organizations to determine technical requirements regarding the design of new projects to create electrical designs and estimate for transmission lines/facilities; Involved in infrastructure replacement programs, including, among others, deteriorated poles, capital on-ramp, transmission line rating remediation (TLRR), cable replacement and switch replacement; Prepares work order documents, preparing and reviewing work order drawings, and completing final work order packages; orders materials and identifies expected construction labor and timeframes; Acquires permits and easements, and coordinating required project components. Determines the scope of work, method of service, and construction methods for overhead and underground facilities. Prioritizes and schedules all design. Provides coordination and planning of major projects with other departments and/or outside organizations in order to establish and meet scheduled operating dates; Applies for necessary permits, FAA approval and submits environmental reviews to prepare project for eventual construction; Assists other team members with technical issues; acts as a team leader in coordinating efforts of contract planners, engineers, customers, and all other internal sources for the purpose of creating a high quality electrical design in a timely manner. Supports system emergencies as they arise. Acts as 24-hour “On Call” duty supervisor for the assigned work base.
