ABOUT JAMES WOOLNOUGH
When I left school I went straight into the shipping/freight industry. I Worked extremely long hours 16hrs plus every day (Inc Sat) but only 12hrs every other Sunday. The shipping & freight industry (for those who do not know) is extremely stressful. You have freight around the entire globe, and you are responsible for sorting out any problems. Everything is against time and works 24/7.Some how I managed to do this for many years.Luckily in the end my head could not take it anymore and I had a complete mental breakdown. This ended in me being off work for 8 years before I felt well enough to go back into the workforce. During this time I had been volunteering with Suffolk Mental Health, East Suffolk Mind, and many more Mental Health charities.Had counselling for many years. Worked for SMHP NHS / Suffolk Family Carers and Sue Ryder.Currently at SUF since 2016 and still loving it 9 years on#ASIST trained and in the past #MHFA instructor.I have done a whole load of training, but no training can ever be as good as listening to people\'s actual lived experience. I learn everyday from what people share with me.I am also a bereaved by suicide parent and also parent carerP.S. All comments are mine and not that of SUF
