ABOUT JAMES WHITTEMORE

I am part of an incredible team advising and protecting those investing in photovoltaic (PV) projects, PV modules, energy storage, and balance of system components. Over the last 15 years, I’ve been privileged to have some unique experiences that now help me in this role. My experiences started with basic R&D for organic photovoltaic cells, which led to applying those skills as the sole onsite process engineer for the start-up and stabilization of a 100MW thin-film CIGS(S) factory. I then got to project manage the installation and commissioning of a 200MW n-PERT cell line while working in a team to establish healthy processes and procedures. After getting the opportunity to be the quality manager for a 200MW PV module factory, my team and I built a quality management system that successfully passed numerous customer and third-party audits. The team’s success let me take on more responsibilities and step up to eventually lead the equipment, process, and quality departments. My next role was as the process engineering manager for the start-up of a 400MW module factory of a tier-one module supplier. After ramping up we quickly obtained ISO9001 certification and passed multiple third-party audits and pre-shipment inspections. Once again, my team enabled me to take on more responsibility to eventually lead as operations manager for the 400MW factory. All these hands-on blood, sweat, and tears experiences at the production level provide a unique perspective that my team and collaborators leverage to procure reliable and forward-thinking products for their PV projects.
