ABOUT JAMES WALKER

I am driven to support clinicians and administrators to deliver improvements in care outcomes for patients, and to reduce the administrative burden for clinicians and managers in the NHS by utilising technology to deliver better, and more efficient patient outcomes. I held a variety of roles, at a local and national level in IT strategy, programme & project management delivering interoperability, business transformation, change management, clinical engagement. I have delivered large scale IT programmes, including national ITK standards, open source solutions, e-messaging of results, Child Health Information Strategy, Public Health Outcome Frameworks, CQUIN & clinical re-engineering. I feel that I have great people skills, I successfully engage senior clinicians, Board level Execs, suppliers & commissioners to innovate & utilise technology to deliver improved care outcomes and more efficient working practices. I developed a wide range of Heathcare IM & T business cases and implemented a number of large complex, cross organisational solutions, to budget and on time in the NHS & the Private Sector. These include programmes/projects: ITK Messaging, Portals, Cloud platforms, EPR solutions, PAS, Order Communications, Maternity, Theatre Systems, PACS, Cath Labs, Theatres, x, Integrated Care Pathways, Telemedicine, Voice Recognition, Integration, Interoperability, Document Management, Blood Tracking etc I believe I am a positive person, who horizon scans, who is highly driven to support clinicians to improve patient outcomes and to maximise positive experience in utilising IM & T solutions.
