Working on The Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) which is a major, multi-billion-pound Programme of railway improvements which will bring better journeys to passengers travelling across the Pennines between Manchester, Huddersfield, Leeds and York. As Head of Delivery Operations, I am accountable on all matters in relation to negotiating & securing the appropriate Access to deliver the TRU programme, co-ordination and deconfliction of Critical Resources & Rail Logistics, overseeing Operational Readiness and leading the programme level deliverability function overseeing our assurance of engineering works through the DWWP and Industry Readiness processes on behalf of the TRU Enterprise Executive Team.

James is an experienced project & programme management professional who has over 12 years experience within the railway industry, the majority of which spent with the UK’s infrastructure owner & operator, Network Rail.Having originally joined Amalgamated Construction (AMCO) back in 2013, a trusted industry supply chain partner, James then moved to Network Rail in 2014 where he has undertaken a number of management roles.James is currently working on The Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) which is a major, multi-billion-pound programme of railway improvements which will bring better journeys to passengers travelling across the Pennines between Manchester, Huddersfield, Leeds and York. As Head of Delivery Operations, James is responsible for the access planning, critical resources, deliverability assurance, rail logistics and operational readiness functions driving minimal possible disruption to day-to-day train operations and ultimately our passengers.
