ABOUT JAMES TRADEWELL
I am a Chartered Engineer and Chartered Environmentalist and have been with AtkinsRéalis (formerly Atkins and WS Atkins) since graduating in 1997. I have worked across the entire water cycle for a range of clients, including water companies, the EA, local authorities, NGOs and private developers. My areas of specialism are water resources and water efficiency, and I enjoy opportunities where my engineering and environmental backgrounds meet to provide sustainable solutions. Interesting recent projects have included: water resource simulator modelling for a draft regional plan; creation of floating habitat on reservoirs; urban river restoration studies; investigating water efficiency opportunities for an airport; developing the water supply strategy to support development of a nuclear power station. As practice manager until recently, I had the pleasure of leading a fantastic team of water management professionals, providing integrated and innovative technical and management solutions to our greatest water and environmental challenges.
