As an Investigator with Georgia Power Company Corporate Security, I investigate violations of company policy and violations of criminal law primarily including theft, fraud, and threats. I instruct company personnel in the areas of defensive tactics, firearms, and hostile intruder/active shooter regularly. Since beginning my career at Georgia Power Company, I have also been a member and team leader of the Executive Protection Team which plans, coordinates, executes and maintains the safety and security of Georgia Power Company and Southern Company executives off and on site. Prior to being assigned as an Investigator, I was a Security Business Unit Analyst (Compliance Advisor) in the Compliance Section of Corporate Security. I ensured Georgia Power and its assets remained within compliance standards, primarily North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP). I was also heavily involved with the North American Transmission Forum (NATF) and the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI). I worked closed with Southern Company Operations Compliance and Georgia Power Company Transmission Compliance, and was assigned to the Southern Company Transmission Physical Security Core Team which strategically planned transmission security throughout Southern Company.
