About James Stuber

I am an undergraduate at Bowdoin College, double-majoring in History and Government & Legal Studies (with a concentration in comparative politics) and minoring in Chinese. My academic and professional experiences have shaped my interests in law, public service, and U.S.–China relations, particularly in immigration and social policy.Having studied Chinese for over fifteen years, I am especially interested in the evolving U.S-China relationship, the most consequential bilateral relationship in the world. Through my research, language, and analytical skills, I hope to engage with this relationship in both academic and professional contexts.Outside the classroom, I am a cellist and pianist with over a decade of experience. Music has taught me discipline, collaboration, and attention to detail, while also reinforcing the importance of storytelling and expression. These perspectives inform how I approach writing, advocacy, and public-facing work.
